I'm A Homeware Expert, And These Are The Indie Pieces I’ve Added To My Wish List

Rosa Morell

If there’s one category that takes up the majority of real estate in my mind, it’s homeware. And while there’s nothing quite like the thrill of bagging a vintage gem, finding a new independent homeware brand to fixate on comes a pretty close second. So, to help out any fellow indie brand lovers, I’m sharing all of the pieces that are featuring on my birthday/Christmas/treat yourself lists – expect colourful, eclectic picks, balanced out with a few minimalist pieces thrown in for good measure.

Glorious Green Scalloped Tea Plates – CasabyJJ from Wolf and Badger

My crockery cupboard is in desperate need of a colour injection, and these scalloped sweeties from Casa by Josephine Jenno are the perfect plates for the job.

Margarita Cushion – Harriet Says Hi

If you like homeware on the quirkier side, you’ll love Harriet Say Hi’s playful pieces as much as I do. This hand-tufted, made-to-order Margarita Cushion, in particular, is pretty showstopping.

Sage Green Linen Blend Duvet Cover – Piglet in Bed

When I’m next in the market for this bedding, this sustainable, linen blend set is first on my list. Combining a soft sage hue with the breathability of linen and softness of cotton, I’ll be in for an absolute treat when I finally make the splurge.

Woven Reed Basket – Bohemia
J’adore La Mer Print – Nephthys Illustrated

Struggling to find feel-good prints on a budget? Allow me to point you in the direction of the talented independent artist Nephthys. I can imagine this bold and beautiful number stealing all the attention in the middle of my gallery wall.

Ruffle Edge Napkin Pair in Soft Lemon – Chorus

If I can bring a slice of Sicily into my little London flat, I absolutely will. So, naturally, these 100% Linen Lemon Ruffled Napkins have bagged themselves a top spot on my to-buy list.

Frilly Olive Dish – Studio ERS

As a new recruit to the olive fan base, I’m now making up for lost time. So I feel it’s only right to treat myself to this handmade Frilly Olive Dish by Emily Rose Sinclair – a must-have for all the mezze lovers out there.

Burgundy and Cerise Rectangle Tissue Box Cover – Amuse la Bouche

Back again with the ruffles, but I couldn’t not mention this a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e tissue box cover. Whether it’s perched on a bedside table or skincare shelf, its charming colourway and relaxed ruffles mean that it won’t look out of place wherever it sits.

Arborealist Hand and Body Wash – Verden

Aside from its ultra-chic exterior, the Arborealist Hand and Body Wash is packed full of essentials oils and butters to make for a hydrating (and high-end) hand washing experience.

Vacanza Espresso Mug in Brown – Artemis Deco on Maison Flaneur

I’ve fallen head over heels for this handmade number from Artemis Deco; thanks to the rich brown hue, compact shape and cutesy striped detailing – 10/10, no notes from me.

Damru Rattan Side Table – Hastshilp

Rattan is my go-to for bringing texture to a space, and this showstopping side table adds oodles of it. With scalloped detailing and a unique hourglass shape, it can easily shine on its own or become a beautiful base for candles and colourful frames.

The Reykjavic Throw in Apricot – Arctic Fox & Co from Wolf and Badger

Crafted entirely from recycled materials, this edgy orange throw from Arctic Fox and Co. ticks all of my homeware boxes. Imagine this draped over the arm of a vintage brown leather sofa *drools*.

Circus Stripe Butter Dish – Issy Granger

Granted these glasses won’t be to everyone’s taste, but they certainly are to mine. Handblown by talented artisans in Columbia, these unique pieces would outshine their counterparts in any drinks cabinet.

Manatee Glass Set – The Dada Project from Maison Flaneur

Granted these glasses won’t be to everyone’s taste, but they certainly are to mine. Handblown by talented artisans in Columbia, these unique pieces would outshine their counterparts in any drinks cabinet.

Too Hot to Handle Sand & Capri Blue Vase – Vaisselle

Not to be dramatic, but every single one of my problems would be solved with this Vaisselle vase in my possession. It’s show-stopping floral design, and its hand-sculpted handles make it a mood-boosting addition to any home – with or without flowers.

Fall Candle – Harris London

With the colder months hot on our heels, it’s time to bring welcome back the autumnal scents. This Harris London candle, with notes of amber, wood and spices, will warm up any space (for up to 30 hours).

Birdie Parasol – Boho Parasol Hut

On the few days that the sun graces England with its presence, I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be than parked under this retro, Hamptons-inspired parasol with something fizzy to hand.

Peach Hibiscus Rug – Chelsea Theilmann

Chelsea Theilmann’s intricate hand-tufted rugs have been the subject of my adoration for years now. While there are brightly coloured orchids and pansies to choose from, it’s the muted Peach Hibiscus Rug that’s stolen my heart.

Kohyo Rinka Soup Mug and Saucer Plate Set- Cerani Studios

Sometimes, less is more – and that’s certainly the case with Cerani Studio’s ceramic offerings. The scalloped detailing and creamy hue of this handmade mug and saucer set will take my tea and biscuit sessions to a whole new level of chic.

Libra Bar – Horosoaps

While quick decision-making doesn’t come naturally to us Libras, I’ve got my mind made up on this soap bar from Horosoaps. Handmade from 100% natural ingredients and packaged in a chic, recycled box, this soap will be the next sustainable addition to grace my sink.
