What’s Good in June
In Partnership With In Good Company

June is officially the moment London clicks into summer. The days stretch long into the evening, the parks fill up, and the city takes on that golden-hour glow that makes everything feel a little more possible. You’re saying yes to plans again, walking home the long way, and suddenly everything feels lighter, in every sense.
It’s not quite full summer chaos yet, but the shift is here. There’s movement, excitement, and a sense that something good is just around the corner. Whether you’re swapping clothes, sipping sustainable cocktails by the water, or diving into climate-positive festivals, there’s no better time to be out and about.
So without further ado, here’s what’s good in London this June…
Swap your wardrobe at Southwark Swap Shop
As part of London Climate Action Week, Southwark Council and circular fashion champions LOANHOOD are teaming up for a one-day-only swap shop, and it’s the perfect excuse to refresh your wardrobe sustainably.
Bring up to 5 freshly cleaned items (think clothes, accessories, kidswear — no underwear or swimwear) and trade them for tokens based on value and condition. Then use your tokens to pick out something new-to-you from the rails. It’s a rolling drop-and-swap, so you can browse all afternoon while the shop restocks in real time.
Expect community energy, slow fashion finds, and a chance to do good for your wardrobe and the planet.

Sip garden cocktails on a boat in Hackney Wick
There’s something truly magical about Barge East Gardens in summer. Think riverside tables surrounded by raised veggie beds, seasonal dishes made from ingredients grown just metres away, and garden-to-glass cocktails that taste like sunshine.
This isn’t just one of London’s prettiest places to eat, it’s one of the most sustainable. Food waste is kept low, community is always at the heart, and the views are unbeatable. And now its summer the gardens are open 7 days a week.

With 30 indie makers each day, outdoor seating, and serious good vibes, this is the kind of weekend plan you build your Saturday around.
