Despite its eco-credentials, Fritton Lake doesn’t skimp on luxury. The amenities here cater to both relaxation and adventure, all while keeping sustainability in focus.

The centerpiece is, of course, the lake itself. Non-motorised boats, paddleboards, and canoes are available for guests. The lake is pristine, thanks to stringent conservation efforts, making it perfect for a refreshing swim.  

Wellness is obviously a priority at the estate and the outdoor heated swimming pool is solar-powered, and there’s a wood-fired, floating sauna on the lake that provides the ultimate relaxation and is open to all members and holiday makers; and can be booked for private sessions later on in the day.  Yoga sessions are held in picturesque spots, encouraging mindfulness in nature.  Most of the grounds are dog friendly too so you can travel with your pooch as we did.

The estate’s kitchen garden supplies fresh produce for the on-site restaurant. Dining here is a treat – the menu is seasonal and reflects the best of what’s locally available. They even offer cooking classes, emphasizing sustainable culinary practices.  The specials were particularly great both nights, I had an onglet steak and an incredible rack of lamb that were delicious!

For the more adventurous, there are cycling and walking trails that take you through the estate’s diverse landscapes. Guided wildlife tours are a highlight, offering insight into the local ecosystem and conservation efforts.

Fritton Lake is incredibly family-friendly. There’s a dedicated adventure playground made from natural materials, and educational programs aimed at teaching kids about the environment.
