What’s Good in May
In Partnership With In Good Company

If April was a warm-up, May is full-on go time. Suddenly it’s all happening, long
weekends, new exhibitions, pop-ups, park days, and more reasons to get out and
enjoy the city. And we’re here for it!
This month’s lineup has everything from iconic fashion fundraisers and East London
style swaps to Black-owned markets in Brixton and vegan roasts worth booking
ahead for. It’s a great time to explore, support independent businesses, and make
the most of the city — all while keeping things thoughtful and sustainable.
Here’s what’s good…
1. The Re-Loved Club: Walthamstow Edition

The Re-Loved Club is heading to Walthamstow — and it’s bringing rails of gorgeous
pre-loved fashion with it. Expect a mix of womens, mens and kidswear, all lovingly
curated and ready for a second life. It’s a brilliant way to give your wardrobe a
sustainable refresh and spend a Sunday supporting circular fashion in your local
community.
Tip: come early for the best picks, stay late for the chill vibes.
2. Fixing Our Broken Planet at the Natural History Museum
📅 Open daily
📍 Natural History Museum, South Kensington

This powerful new gallery does exactly what it says on the tin: tackles the biggest
issues facing our planet from plastic waste to biodiversity loss and showcases real,
practical solutions backed by science and hope.
It’s a gentle but galvanising reminder of the role we all play. A must-visit for Earth
Month… or any month, really.
3. The #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale
📅 Saturday 17th May
📍 Selfridges Car Park, W1A 1AB

Imagine a car boot sale — but make it designer. Backed by Vogue and beloved by
the fashion crowd, this iconic sale features pre-loved pieces from fashion editors,
celebs, and cult brands. But the best part? Every penny goes to Women for Women
International, supporting survivors of war around the world.
It’s one of those feel-good, do-good events that London does best. Expect a queue
— and don’t forget your reusable bag.

This is one of our absolute favourites. The Black Culture Market returns to Brixton
with its signature blend of community spirit, creativity and culture — and over 40
brilliant Black-owned businesses.

and summer-ready fashion. It’s the perfect place to pick up something special and
support emerging entrepreneurs.
5. Book a Table at Silo — London’s Most Sustainable Restaurant
📍 Hackney Wick, E9 5EN
Zero-waste fine dining? That’s exactly what you get at Silo. Tucked inside The White
Building by the canal, Silo is a game-changer in sustainable hospitality from their
locally sourced ingredients and compostable plates to their on-site flour mill.
It’s not just one of the most sustainable restaurants in London, it’s also delicious. Go
for a special night out and toast to doing things differently.
6. Don’t Miss London’s First Vegan Sunday Carvery
📍 Unity Diner, 60 Wentworth Street, E1 7AL
🕛 Every Sunday from 12pm
After a short closure earlier this year, Unity Diner is back — and better than ever.
Their new menu still hits all the comfort food notes, but the real showstopper is their
100% vegan Sunday carvery, a London first.
Gather your plant-curious pals, book ahead, and tuck into roasts, gravy, and all the
trimmings — without compromising your values.
7. Soak Up the Spring in Urban Nature
There’s no better time to get outside — and no better city than London to surprise
you with its wild corners. Here are three green spaces we love for a weekend
wander:
🌿 St Mary’s Secret Garden, Hoxton
An oasis of calm with sensory planting, wildlife areas and a real community spirit.
🦆 Camley Street Natural Park, King’s Cross
Wild meadows and wetlands nestled right behind the station — a total hidden gem.
🐐 Hackney City Farm, Hackney Road
Meet goats, pigs and donkeys just minutes from the bustle. Plus visit their café
which champions organic and local produce.
Wherever you go, take your time, breathe deep, and reconnect with what matters.
