Wires Glasses

Yair Neuman, a designer, broke his old pair of sunglasses while travelling in 2016. But instead of being bummed out, this sparked his creative juices, and he handcrafted a new pair from a single wire. This got him thinking, and with the help of his friends – social entrepreneurs Lily Cole and Kwame Ferreira, Wires, a super cool sunglasses brand, was born.

Wires Glasses is based in London, but every style is made in Italy. The brand makes its frames out of stainless-steel wire, and the lens rims are 3D-printed using castor oil harvested from castor beans. And get this: the temple tips are made from 43% natural rubber! From classic aviators to hexagon-style glasses inspired by beehives, they offer lots of different colours and styles for every face. And sustainability and zero waste are not only limited to their sunglasses, their packaging is also kind to the planet. #WIRESNOTWASTE

Not only that, the brand uses plant-based dyes for colouring wood and acetate, and their cleaning cloths are made from recycled plastic bottles.
