Get The Look "Corpcore"

Bianca Foley

October is officially here, and with it comes a fresh wave of style inspo. Everyone I know has been super excited for *sweater weather* bar myself, I am a summer baby of the purest form.  Even though I don’t necessarily get as exited for autumn fashion as I do summer looks (I mean, who doesn’t love linen and floaty dresses?!) I couldn’t be more excited for the trend painted over our FYP.

This month, it’s all about nailing the “Corpcore” trend AKA “corporate girl chic”  – where sharp tailoring meets effortless cool. Think tailored blazers, sleek pencil skirts, and crisp white shirts, but with a modern twist. If you caught any of the shows from Fashion Month, you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about. Designers like Prada, who redefined the office look in their AW15 collection, and Phoebe Philo’s Celine era, which gave us minimalist workwear dreams, laid the groundwork for this trend’s resurgence.

But don’t be fooled – this isn’t your typical corporate look. It’s about power dressing without feeling stuffy and owning the room while doing it, it’s’ exactly how I always wanted to dress when I worked in the corporate world; the perfect equilibrium between style and sophistication. Those structured blazers are now oversized, and trousers have gone from stiff to slouchy, striking the perfect balance between professional and playful. Whether you’re heading to the office or just brunch with the girls, October’s corporate chic vibe is your go-to for looking polished with zero effort.
